During the UM50 Alumni Homecoming on 23 May 2026, the Maastricht University alumni community collectively raised €3,592 for the Equity and Inclusion Programme of the University Fund Limburg. This amount was made possible through voluntary contributions that alumni could add on top of their ticket price. Thanks to this support, the programme receives additional funding to continue its mission.
Maastricht University’s Equity and Inclusion Programme is committed to making higher education more inclusive. The programme supports students who, due to financial or socio-economic circumstances, may not have straightforward access to university education.
Through financial assistance, the programme helps these students to start and successfully complete their studies at Maastricht University. In this way, talent is not limited by background or financial barriers, and everyone is given the opportunity to develop their full potential.
The UM50 Alumni Homecoming brought together more than 1,300 alumni in Maastricht on 23 May 2026 for a day of reunions, activities and celebrations marking 50 years of UM. Alongside the festive atmosphere and reconnection with the university, the alumni community also demonstrated its social commitment.
Thanks to voluntary contributions on top of the ticket price, a total of €3,592 was raised for the Equity and Inclusion Programme. This once again shows that the UM community is not only connected to each other, but also actively contributes to equal opportunities for future students.
