During the UM Star Lectures 2025, the alumni community of Maastricht University raised an impressive €8,225 for the Equity and Inclusion Programme of the University Fund Limburg. Thanks to this generous contribution, underprivileged students will have a fair chance to access higher education and build a better future.
The Equity and Inclusion Programme is an initiative by Maastricht University aimed at promoting inclusivity and equal access to education. This programme provides financial support to students who face social or economic barriers to university education.
The €8,225 raised will cover a full bachelor’s degree for at least one student, including tuition fees of €7,500. Additionally, part of the amount will be allocated to supplementary support, such as guidance and educational counselling.
On 13 March 2025, the UM Star Lectures brought together over 700 alumni in 12 cities across Europe. In addition to inspiring lectures and valuable networking opportunities, the alumni community once again demonstrated its commitment to social responsibility. With a fixed entrance fee of €10 and the option to donate extra, this remarkable amount was raised. This illustrates that the UM community not only shares knowledge but also actively contributes to a more inclusive and equitable society.
