UM First Generation Student (FGS) Scholarship

The UM First Generation Student (FGS) scholarship is intended for bachelor’s students at Maastricht University who are the first in their family to attend a university. This scholarship is available for all bachelor’s programmes at all faculties of the university and is made possible by a UM alumnus.

Who is the UM First Generation Student scholarship for?

This scholarship is intended for bachelor’s students at Maastricht University who meet the following criteria:

  • You have Dutch nationality.
  • You are a first-generation student, which means that you are the first in your family to pursue higher education.

How do you apply for the UM First Generation Student scholarship?

Maastricht University offers various scholarships, some of which are provided through the Limburg University Fund. For most scholarships, including the UM First Generation Student Scholarship, applications must be submitted annually before 1 May. Selection and administration are managed by the Scholarship Office of the Student Service Centre (SSC).
