Human Animal Sustainability Fund

Supporting scientific research at UM that focuses specifically on research into sustainable human-animal relationships in order to improve the welfare of humans and animals. More specifically, the fund aims to support research into the role of (domestic) animals in optimising our health. This could include supporting PhD research, encouraging publication, and financing student activities and other costs that the advisory committee deems appropriate within the scope of the fund’s objectives.

Initiator Prof. Dr. Pim Martens, Professor of Sustainable Development at Maastricht University and Director of the Maastricht University Graduate School of Sustainability Science (ICIS), is committed to scientific research focused on sustainable human-animal relationships that benefit both animal and human welfare. Thanks to the establishment of this fund, third parties can also support projects with this objective.
